Lowell Catholic High School Dress Code
Lowell Catholic High School maintains that a school uniform provides our community with an atmosphere that builds on personal discipline and equity. The Lowell Catholic uniform allows our students to be recognized as members of our community who actively demonstrate the values inherent in our school mission. As such students are expected to conduct themselves as ambassadors representing Lowell Catholic High School.

Lowell Catholic High School will enforce the following dress code.

OFFICIAL SCHOOL UNIFORM

GIRLS:

  • Green plaid skirt - no shorter than two-inches above the knee
  • Oxford blouse: white or light blue
  • Pullover Lowell Catholic sweater or school sweater vest
  • Pullover Lowell Catholic polar fleece1/4 zip jacket
  • Navy or white Lowell Catholic "hoodie" shirt
  • Navy or white Lowell Catholic polo shirt in long or short sleeve. Long sleeve shirts cannot be worn under short sleeve polo's
  • Navy or tan "Chino" style long pants - no back or external side pockets. Pockets are only allowed within leg seams.
  • Navy or tan "Chino" style capri pants may be worn from April vacation through October 31.
  • Belts must be worn with pants
  • Shoes with backs, low heeled or low sneakers
  • Socks or nylons
  • A round neck jersey may be worn under the polo if it is white or light blue
  • White or blue turtlenecks may be worn under school sweater/school sweater vest or oxford shirt
  • Turtleneck shirts may not be worn alone or with the summer uniform
  • Jewelry - limited to one pair of small earrings. No excessive jewelry allowed.

BOYS:

  • Oxford dress shirt: white, light blue, or pin stripe with tie
  • Pullover Lowell Catholic sweater or school sweater vest
  • Pullover Lowell Catholic polar fleece1/4 zip jacket
  • Navy or white Lowell Catholic polo shirt in long or short sleeve. Long sleeve shirts cannot be worn under short sleeve polo's
  • Navy or tan "Chino" style long pants - no back or external side pockets. Pockets are only allowed within leg seams.
  • Navy or tan "Chino" style walking shorts may be worn from April vacation through October 31.
  • Pants must fit and must be worn with a belt at waist. No baggy pants allowed.
  • Sneakers or dress shoes with socks
  • Clean shaven - absolutely no facial hair will be allowed
  • A round neck jersey may be worn under polo if it is white or light blue
  • White or blue turtlenecks may be worn under school sweater/school sweater vest or oxford shirt
  • Turtleneck shirts may not be worn alone or with the summer uniform
  • Jewelry: No earrings, no heavy chains. No excessive jewelry allowed.

ALL STUDENTS:
Shirts must be tucked in at all times. If a belt is not visible it will count as a violation of the uniform code.
  - Hair color must be natural. No excessive hairdo's or make-up will be allowed.
  - No facial piercing including nose, tongue, lip and/or eyebrow, or visible tattoo's.

DRESS UNIFORM
Full dress uniform requires the student to wear either the green Lowell Catholic sweater or the green sweater vest. All students must wear a white or light blue oxford blouse under the sweater or sweater vest. Boys are required to wear a tie with their oxford shirt. Each student must have a dress uniform sweater or sweater vest to wear on full dress days. Failure to wear full dress uniform when required will result in disciplinary action.

Students are to be mindful of health and safety standards in their apparel and accessories. For example:
  - Heavy winter outer garments must not be worn in the building
  - Chains, which can be interpreted as weapons and deemed dangerous to a student's     welfare, are prohibited
  - Hats and other head gear (headbands, scarves, bandannas, etc.) are not to be worn     anywhere inside the high school and must be removed when you enter the building
  - Facial piercing, of any kind, is prohibited

Students who choose to ignore the above directive will have these items confiscated.

Students who violate this directive a second time will be placed on suspension for a period from one (1) to three (3) days.

Students found in violation of the dress code will be sent to the Assistant Principal where appropriate disciplinary action will be taken.

Students will need to leave school if they are not in compliance with the uniform code.

Students will receive zero's for the time missed from class.

CASUAL DAY DRESS CODE
On casual days, students are allowed to wear clothes of their own choosing. These clothes must not have slogans or have inappropriate language or depictions on them. All clothes must fit properly and be in good repair. Rules associated with grooming, i.e.: facial piercing, hat, and shaving still apply on casual day.

Students are expected to be clean and neat and to wear clothes that are not distracting to the student population and that are in good taste. For example, shirts containing vulgar language or depictions, tank tops or bare midriffs are not acceptable and will necessitate a student being asked to change his/her attire. Interpretations of said disciplines will be left to the discretion of the administration. If the student refuses to change the item(s) of clothing in question, parents will be called to take the student home. The student would receive no academic credit for the time missed from class. Student may face suspension for repeated offenses.

Any form or manner of attire that incites encourages or which may result in acts of violence upon the wearer or any particular individual or group is prohibited. Clothing which depicts any illegal activity or encourages the use of controlled substances is prohibited.

Students found in violation of the dress code will be sent to the Assistant Principal where appropriate disciplinary action will be taken.

Students will need to leave school if they are not in compliance with the casual dress code.

Students will receive zero's for the time missed from class.
